I've spoke to many Sunderland fans recently about this game and not many are unduly upset. It would have been good to see us win the old enemy but our respective positions tell no lies. Nobody is really bothered.

The thing is with promotion, would we have enough in reserve to survive in the Premier League? I don't think we would so another season in the Championship will not do us any harm. I'm in two minds about whether promotion would be a good or bad thing. I know most supporters would still want to go up.
