Middlesbrough 0-0 Sunderland (Abandoned Friendly)

This is our SAFC Forum of course. You may chat about Sunderland AFC here together with any other footballing matters. Obviously, the Black Cats are the main focus. However, this is basically our football lounge.

Middlesbrough 0-0 Sunderland (Abandoned Friendly) (27/07/18)

The lads went to Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium with a little confidence after thrashing St Mirren 6-0 last week.
With the last few weeks of endless hot sunny weather you could be forgiven if you thought the weather was going to spoil a friendly between the Smoggies and the Mackems. The game kicked off while the sun was shining on this hot summer evening (hard to believe on Teesside, I know  ). Who would have thought that the second half wouldn't even kick off?

It was another good kick about for the lads and it was the Smog Monsters who were on the back foot. We played OK for much of this game.

Middlesbrough starting XI: Randolph; Shotton, Flint, Gibson, Friend; Traore (Braithwaite 26), McNair, Clayton, Howson, Downing; Assombalonga
Boro substitutes: Konstantopoulos, Wood, Fry, Leadbitter, Johnson, De Sart, Wing, Chapman, Fletcher, Bamford.

Sunderland starting XI: McLaughlin; Love, Flanagan, Loovens, Matthews; Mumba, McGeouch (Ozturk 19), Honeyman; Gooch, Maja, Sinclair.
SAFC substitutes: Ruiter, Hume,Oviedo, Taylor, Hackett, Kimpioka
What was that you said again?

Was a washout for the airshow as well
Seriously though, I thought Boro would win but they were shaky.
I might have the day off today!

Same here. In fact I thought we would be humiliated by the Smoggies. Not sure what would have happened had the second half kicked off though. Maybe we could have humiliated them!

Are we good or are the Smog Monsters in trouble?

I hope when we get back in the Championship (next season) Boro are still there, together with the scum of course.
