A little maintenance is due soon, any disruption won't last long.

This is the SAFC Forum. You may chat about Sunderland AFC here together with any other footballing matters. Obviously, the Black Cats are the main focus. However, this is basically our football lounge.

Football Insider claimed that the Black Cats are keen on a deal for Murphy, who has fallen out of favour at Ibrox – with Phil Parkinson also pursuing a deal for teammate Greg Docherty.

However, the Brewers’ chief believes that finances could prove a stumbling block.

No competition, we would win hands down if Parky really wants him.

Aye, providing there's enough in the kitty.
Remember it's all about balancing the books!

Getting promoted could cost money.

Staying in the championship will cost money.

Getting promoted from the Championship will definitely cost money.

Lets just stay in league one and spend nothing, it's safer on Donald's Bank balance

Or we could spend, spend, spend, break the bank and go out of business.
I don't know how much is available in the kitty and I doubt if anyone else does.
This information will not be available until the accounts go in, I would imagine.

It's about one pound, four shillings and sixpence.

Nobody says break the bank. There's being ambitious, and there's being silly

Exactly my point. Neither of us know how much there is and how the club should be investing.

Well you said "break the bank", to be fair.

I'd assume that means to wilfully ignore what we can feasibly spend, and bankrupt the club.

We can be ambitious without sending the club to the wall. 🙄
