I'd assume that means to wilfully ignore what we can feasibly spend, and bankrupt the club.
I will put it another way then. Can you or anyone else tell the world how much we have to spend. This is going to be an exclusive

We should be capable of out spending any team in this league. Do you need to look at the books to think that?

In a word yes. There is no way you can spend money unless there is some sort of return. That would be business suicide. We should be thankful that Donald has made funds available considering he has made a decision to go.

When Short lost interest look what happened.

You have to balance the books no matter what business you're in. We got no return off Grigg and possibly a few more. I am not defending Donald because I know many of his decisions were wrong. My point is that we have to make more good decisions than bad ones.

But I agree we should be able to spend our way out of this league. Again this is all about business decisions. And I still don't know what funds are available. I just hope that we do get it right this season.

Even if we do get it right and go up there will still be people moaning that Donald did make a gain when he sells but that's how businesses work. It's all about profit and loss.

I hope Donald makes a cool million or two on condition that we go up because that would mean reasonable success for Sunderland AFC.

Hopefully we have bottomed out after that episode but I don't think I will ever forgive him. At the end of the day he could have secured our Championship status. He was responsible for us being where we are. The great escapes gave us some good memories and the Maggie results were brilliant but dumping us in the way he did was bad - very bad.
