Jill Scott, Lucy Bronze, Jordan Nobbs, Steph Houghton and Carly Telford are former Sunderland and England players who turned out with many other former players of the Sunderland Ladies Football Team for charity. They were playing the current Sunderland Ladies team in the Clash of the Titan charity game.
The charity event was held in honour of three year old Finlay Kennedy from Penshaw who needs blood infusions weekly because of an immune system problem.
Julie Tweddle organised the event at the Durham City football ground (New Ferens Park) and the current squad walloped the veterans 7-0. But, Julie says it was a great day and great to have everyone back together again.
Finlay's family are raising money for the North East Regional Immunology and Allergy Unit and the match is thought to have raised about £800 for the charity.
Sunderland Ladies (from): Alderson, Holmes, Bannon, Wilson, Greenwell, McFadden, Joice, McDougall, Bass, Ramshaw, Mead, Beer, Potts, McHugh, Dodds.

** There was also a charity night at the Lakeside Sports and Social Club at Gilley Law which raised around £4,000 for the charity funds.

Re: Sunderland and England Women Charity Match
I notice the charity event in the Lakeside Club pulled in five or six times as much as the game unless that figure of £4,000 was a mistake.
Well done to those who contributed to the worthwhile cause.
