Footballers remembered for something negative in the game

Post by Dumbo »

Footballers remembered for something negative in the game.

Now that Maradona is dead, the "Hand of God" goal "hero", I was thinking that he will always be known to me as a cheat who used God as an excuse. As if.

It's like Eric Cantona who will only be remembered now for his kung-fu kick aimed towards a supporter after jumping the advertising boards.

It's also like Clive Mendonca who will be remembered for his hat-trick against Sunderland - his own team!

Which other footballer will be remembered for something other than their footballing skill?

Maradona, Maradona, Maradona, that's all that's been all over the media and I'm sick of it.
Whose bothered about him?
It's still on the radio now
I never saw this amount of hype when members of the England World Cup winning team died like Nobby Styles who passed away on the 30th of October, 2020.
It's canny embarrassing like.

That reminds me of Mr Chips on Catchphrase.

I think we will mostly remember him for his "efforts" to be a councillor to killer, Raoul Moat
Gazza wanted to give him a beer and take him fishing when Moat was on the run for murder.
