Sunderland AFC Takeover Complete

Post by Nockya »

Stewart Donald’s controlling interest in Sunderland AFC has diminished.
Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will take over SAFC early in the new year if the EFL agree to the takeover.

Stewart Donald claims that he could have got more money from other interested parties (where did wee hear that again  ).
The departing chairman says Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will offer more to both the club and the community.

We'll see more detail by then. I can't see any problems with the efl approving it, he's 500x richer than Donald ffs

I think quite a few Sunderland fans will be happy at this news and some might see it as an excellent Christmas box

The only problem we're going to have is the salary cap holding us back.
That stupid rule has stopped us from getting the better players to come here.

All the more reason to get up into the Championship so we can take advantage of the new opportunities.

Getting there is the hard part, it doesn't help when the efl have tied one hand behind our backs.

Think so. Youngest chairman in England, isn't he?

If he is 22 years old then most likely the youngest for the whole of the UK (bigger clubs).

They reckon the new owner/chairman will take over completely at the end of January.

If this is the case then January should see an influx of new players?
After all, the new owner will want to see his new club have a degree of success early on.
