Dick Advocaat turns down the Sunderland job
Dick Advocaat was offered the Sunderland job for the next three years but has declined the offer.
He mentioned his age a lot and his wife had a lot of say in matters too.
I am sure we all wish him well in his retirement.
He gave SAFC supporters some good memories in his brief stay at the club.

Re: Dick Advocaat turns down the Sunderland job
To be honest would anyone at that age want such a high pressure job? Anyone who ever thought the job of managing Sunderland was going to be easy is in for a shock. Those that come here with dark hair leave very soon with grey hair
Seriously, it is historically a difficult task to manage SAFC. Those who do their homework should know this. The potential for a successful manager here is enormous. Sunderland are a sleeping giant, that said, the fan base is already massive so this suggests that Sunderland are potentially in the top three when it comes to actual support.
