Sunderland AFC - Summer 2016 Signings/Transfers

So far, Sunderland have been a bit slow to sign new players for the up and coming season.
This can be put down to the fact that Sam Allardyce has left Sunderland during the summer break to take up the England manager's job.

David Moyes has a job on his hands right now so use this thread to post all transfer activity at SAFC.

Up to now Sunderland have signed the following:

Papy Djilobodji signed from Chelsea for £8m
Both Donald Love and Paddy McNair from Manchester United for a combined fee of £5.5m
Adnan Januzaj from Manchester United on a season-long loan.

Kone has put in a transfer request but David Moyes has said that the club will offer Kone a new contract on September 1st.

What was that you said again?

Worth mentioning that these players have also left Sunderland - Wes Brown, Danny Graham, Steven Fletcher and Steve Harper.
I really hope that the issue surrounding Kone is solved as soon as possible.
He has put in a transfer request and will be fined for making a statement about it.

Three players from Manchester United come to Sunderland.
Has Jose Mourinho got a bit of affection for SAFC or has he got something against us :lolboard:

The squad numbers for the Sunderland team have been confirmed on the official SAFC website.
I can't believe that out team is complete and there's still a bit time left for another signing or two.
Fingers crossed anyway.

Hold on a bit!
Sunderland signed Kone for £5m a few months ago.
Everton come in with a bid of £18m.
Kone puts in a transfer request.
We could profit by £13m.
That's good business sense.
However, I think we should have slapped a £25m price on his head and moved him on.
Should Kone be happy with his improved contract in September then there is no problem.
David Moyes needs to sit down with Kone and discuss things for the best.

I would like to see this but maybe the money pinchers will be saying we did well enough at Man City so expect no further movement until we are in the thick of it again in January.
Another great escape?
Al get me coat shall I :red_lol:

Realistically we need about another 4 but I think you are correct and we will see two more players coming in.
Hopefully we get quality and not quantity.
I do think that under David Moyes, Sunderland will gain a mid-table club and stability.
