Manchester City 2-1 Sunderland - 13/08/16 - Result
Manchester City 2-1 Sunderland - 13/08/16 - Result
Manchester City(4-1-2-3) Caballero; Sagna, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy; Fernandinho; De Bruyne, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Nolito.
Substitutes Hart, Zabaleta, Reges, Navas, Delph, Mangala, Iheanacho.
Sunderland (4-2-3-1) Mannone; Love, Kaboul, Kone, van Aanholt; O’Shea, Rodwell; Gooch, Watmore, Borini, Defoe.
Substitutes Djilobodji, Khazri, Pickford, Lens, McNair, Asoro, Januzaj.
===========================
Van Aanholt gave away a penalty in the 4th minute and Aguero scores.
Defoe scores on the 71st minute after a cool pass from Rodwell.
Man City gets the winner from a McNair own goal in the 86th minute.
Sunderland could have had a decent draw in this game.
It wasn't to be though.
Maybe a lot of people thought we would have to write this game off anyway but it was how Sunderland handled it.
All in all we didn't do too bad but late goals against us have always been a killer and this game was no exception.

A 1-1 draw here would have been a great result.
Shame on Manchester City winning through a penalty and a Sunderland own goal.
They will be thinking they are great now :red_tongue:
Still, I would say we done reasonably well to only suffer a 2-1 defeat at City after the summer break we have had.
It does look promising because we didn't go there with any fear!

Calm down everyone, there is a whole season ahead and we have a stronger side than those teams that came up and some of the ones who survived last season with us.
A 2-1 defeat at Man City is not good but hey, we nearly got a point

A PVA penalty giveaway and an own goal - typical Sunderland.
Its not the end of the world to lose away at Man City, but in the manner we did, its so unfair :weeble:
