Mosque Parking v Football Parking Discrimination
Here's some facts that are clear for everyone to see.
Fact 1) Cars parked illegally near the Stadium of Light in Sunderland WILL get a parking ticket. We see this happening all the time and many cars have these nasty sticker on their windscreens at every game.
Fact 2) Cars parked illegally on Chester Road near the mosque are not getting parking tickets. There are cars double parked both on pavements and double yellow lines and NONE of them get a parking ticket.
Now that we are in the time of their Ramadan, this is more prevalent. Granted, this happens most nights after midnight but they are still parked illegally and no action is taken by the police. The police continue to drive straight passed all the illegally parked cars.
The new mosque on St Marks Road has also just opened for Ramadan and they are doing the same there too. This comes after the council said the parking facilities were good enough at that mosque!
If this is not discrimination against football parking, tell me what is!

Re: Mosque Parking v Football Parking Discrimination
This is very true and they are parking badly near Aldi already.
But that is Sunderland Council for you and this is one of the reasons we all went over to the Lib-Dems for here.
Hope the Labour idiots are prepared for a fight because this bad parking behaviour near the Aldi mosque has only just begun and it will only get worse.
They should nip this bad behaviour in the bud right now

Don't expect Sunderland police to sort this one out, they are like the rest, scared silly.
Although I haven't seen the problem, I will guarantee this goes on forever because the authorities will do nothing but allow them to break the law.
In fact, I bet they help them to continue what they are doing!

Re: Mosque Parking v Football Parking Discrimination
The OP is correct, the traffic wardens are out in force every match day looking to give football supporters a parking ticket.
The council have made it hard for people to park close to the Stadium of Light. There are restrictions everywhere, especially on match days. I see parking tickets on cars at the end of every game without failure.
If the OP is correct with the illegally parked vehicles at the mosques in Sunderland not getting parking tickets, then this would appear to be discrimination. I might find out at the weekend when I make a late pick up over the town.

They have got away with it for years.
So, next time somebody gets a parking ticket when they go to the match, point out the discrimination - simples!
