Sunderland Taxi Surfer

Sunderland Taxi Surfer

This is a weird and dangerous act by a taxi driver in Sunderland.
A man called Glen is under the influence of alcohol and asks a taxi driver for help with an injured man after a night out in the city centre.
The taxi driver ignores the cry for help and from what we understand in the video, the taxi moves off and scoops Glen onto the bonnet.
Not only that, he drives for around four and a half minutes with Glen on the bonnet until he is stopped by police.

The taxi driver is wholly to blame for this because he should NOT have touched Glen with his motor powered vehicle.
But, to actually drive for this length of time, is remarkable.
Just how Glen managed to stay on the car is amazing, stunt men find this hard so an untethered drunk lad unreal.

The taxi driver is heading for big trouble and if he doesn't lose his licence, this would be shocking.
We can't allow this type of dangerous behaviour.
Can you imagine the consequences should the lad have fell off?

Before anyone calls the lad an idiot, stop and think for a minute.
He is drunk, the taxi driver is in control of a motor powered vehicle.
The law is quite clear on this and it should take its course.

Here is the Sunderland Taxi Surfer video:

It also managed to make The Sun newspaper here should that video disappear.

Oh jeeez
Obviously the taxi driver is in trouble up to his neck and the proof is there for all to see.
That is one dangerous driver and needs to be taken off our roads.

This is not an excuse.
It looks like the journey goes from the town all the way to the Queen Alexandra Bridge.
Taxi's have radios, then there are mobile phones and other taxi drivers would have been on hand to help.
That taxi driver is an idiot and he/she needs investigating.
The incident has made world-wide news for a reason.
And that is - the taxi driver was in the wrong!

I reckon the driver was just taken before the councils licencing authority and given a slap on the hand.
The police should have took action but with the lack of any news they will be brushing it under the carpet and just leaving it up to the licencing people. Just passing the buck really.
The taxi driver will not have been born in this country because if he/she was then I doubt they would have drove with someone on the bonnet.
