How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
Just to let you all know that I have made an informative Brexit Day post on the Wearside/Sunderland Blogs here.
Sunderland Council are lighting up the city in patriotic colours - red, white and blue.
Keel Square, Market Square and High Street West as well as Fulwell Mill and the lighthouse at Seaburn are all getting this treatment but we don't know if Penshaw monument will get any attention as yet. We really hope so.
If you take some good images can you please send them in and we might highlight them on the blogs.
Remember, anyone can use the blogs for making in-depth posts.
Is anyone celebrating and if so, what will you be doing?
The country is moving on together now so let's forget about this we won, you lost mentality because that only opened up divisions.

Re: How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
I will be out and about tomorrow night so I will take a few pictures on my phone. I am no photographer though and I don't think I take images of lights very well. I tried the moon the other night and it looked like a street light.
That's a decent article you got there. It's such a shame that people took sides and some people got ugly about it. I fully agree that it's time to move on.

Re: How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
The last few years have been an embarrassment all round.
We are leaving a club which we no longer want to be a part of and that's it - time to all pull together - end of.
Celebrations, well not for me or Mrs Nut, Just a quiet night in (I hope).

Re: How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
Big Ben might not be bonging but we will be celebrating with a drink.
The men of the house decided not to go to Portsmouth so there will be a houseful here with the man cave in full use I imagine.
We have voted UKIP in the past, Brexit in the Euros and last December because we just want out.
I can't believe that we are just a few hours away.
Happy Brexit Day to all

Re: How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
Usually Fulwell Mill is lit up anyway but last night it wasn't lit at all.
The Seaburn Lighthouse was lit up as promised.
Keel Square was lit up in red, white and blue but they went out early.
The Northern Spire was brilliant all night and never let us down.
As for anywhere else I can't say.
I never saw anyone celebrating differently and there was no fireworks that I saw.

Re: How are you celebrating Brexit Day?
I passed Fulwell Mill last night and the whole area was pitch black.
Visitors wouldn't have even noticed it was there.

What was that you said again?

The others were a slight disappointment but the new bridge won many over

The "official" celebrations if you can call them that were subdued but ours weren't.
Our drunken weekend is now over.
Thanks Brexit, at least we had a party
