Sunderland On Film Over The Years
A look back at some of the history of the City of Sunderland which includes some footage of SAFC.
There's obviously reference to the shipyards and the coal mines.
Then there's the other old industries like Plessey, the glass works, the ropery and Vaux brewery etc.
We also see President Carter come to town in May, 1977 as part of their 200 year independence celebrations (even thought that was 1776).
Their first president has his roots in the city after all so he had to come
I just love the music to this video, it's rather breathtaking.

Yes, but I think that was up in the dump further north.

If so he fluffed that up a bit because he should have said "Howay The Lads" up there.
If it was "Haway The Lads" then he is a naturalised Sunderland supporter
