Coronavirus symptoms - what to look for

Symptoms

Most likely that not you will get a high temperature together with a dry cough and you may even have a shortness of breath.
You may also get the following symptoms - aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose and a sore throat.
Some people can become infected but show no signs of the illness or even feel unwell but can still pass it on to others.

How Coronavirus spreads

Nobody knows how Coronavirus actually spreads.
In similar viruses such as the flu, they are spread through cough droplets.
Stay clear of people when you cough and use a tissue then dispose of it and wash your hands.

Precautions

One of the best ways to stop the spread of Coronavirus is to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Drying your hands is all part of the process.
Use a tissue when you cough or sneeze and bin it immediately then wash your hands.
If you have no tissue handy then you should cough or sneeze into your sleeve, at the elbow joint.
Avoid contact with people who are unwell.
Avoid touching your face or rubbing your eyes unless your hands are squeaky clean.
People over 70 should isolate themselves due to their immune system being not as effective.
If you must go out, stay at least 2 steps away from other people.

Feeling Unwell?

Are you showing signs of the Coronavirus?
If so, you should start a 7 day self-isolation period.
Call NHS 111or check your GP's surgery website, but don't go to the doctors.
Call for help if you are not managing well though.

Here's a handy image to show how the Coronavirus can affect you.
