Bins overflowing and rats at the Wheatsheaf
Bins overflowing and rats at the Wheatsheaf
Is it any wonder that we are seeing an increase in rats at the Wheatsheaf area of Sunderland when you see this sort of thing.
Bins overflowing with some bins having no lids.
We actually watched as rats were rummaging around inside the bins but just how they can climb up there is a mystery.
Not only are rats in the bins but they are running around the street in broad daylight.
It's been like this for over 2 weeks.
Don't believe me, well I posted about it here 2 weeks ago!
I suspect it's like this all the time behind those takeaway shops.
We are watching Sunderland Council!
This is what you see when you leave the Sunderland Retail Park - off Newcastle Road/Roker Avenue:

Re: Bins overflowing and rats at the Wheatsheaf
It doesn't help when they closed McDonalds either.
What was happening was people would eat their grub and the pigs amongst them would throw the leftovers out the window there.
McDonalds is clean with no mess now so the rats are all over looking for another source of food.
I am not surprised that they are in those bins as they can climb walls and such so in that picture it would be easy for them to get in those bins.

Re: Bins overflowing and rats at the Wheatsheaf
There are councils that will dish out a penalty to those who leave the bin lids open by just an inch or less.
Why does Sunderland council not do the same thing and sort this out or is that too easy?

I must admit that all you used to see around the Wheatsheaf was the Macky D's packaging all over the place even though they supply bins.Bus Driver wrote: ↑18 Apr 2020, 16:44

And they can only be described as pigs, lazy pigs because the bins are big enough to see.Bus Driver wrote: ↑18 Apr 2020, 16:44 the pigs amongst them would throw the leftovers out the window there.
But why don't they eat inside or wait until they get home?

I was at the retail park about 2 hours ago and it's still the same.
Those seem to be behind an oriental take away.

Re: Bins overflowing and rats at the Wheatsheaf
Have they not got any commercial bins, instead of household ones?
They're using the wrong ones.

I think there's two big wide ones which you might be referring to but that's it.Steve30000 wrote: ↑19 Apr 2020, 23:39
