Council tax is for running the council and they are doing far less now with far less staff to pay.
It depends on the funds they get from central government, doesn't it?
If that's less, then depending on what they cut, we could pay less.. That's one way, but we end up losing a service in the process..

As a council though we run our own business. Surely handling the coronavirus should be central government.

You would think so but central government can take money from where it so pleases.
In really bad times they can take your savings and pension.
