MP's Will Get An 11% Pay Rise

Sunderland's three MP's will get a rise of 11% of £7,600 making them worth £74,000 per year (without expenses).

Sunderland West and Washington MP, Sharon Hodgson, Julie Elliott, the Sunderland Central MP, Bridget Phillipson, ,MP for Sunderland South and Houghton & Graham Morris, MP for Easington have spoken out.

It's very difficult to decipher the short messages released by them to the local paper as to whether they support the wage rises or not. The word flabbergasted was used but the messages are far too short to get a clear indication of what they really mean.
