Sunderland MP, Julie Elliott's Gambling Block
Julie Elliott wanted to get the government to increase its controls on gambling and put forward a motion in Parliament.
However, the motion was defeated.
Elliott says you catch sight of a betting shop the minute you exit Sunderland train station and will see more as you walk around the city centre. This, Elliott says could put shoppers off also.
She also explains that fixed odds betting terminals target deprived areas and draw vulnerable people into debt etc.

Gambling has probably always existed in some form. These ignorant people get voted in and rather than help the local people out with their problems go on and try and change the world.
You could never stop gambling.
