Can anyone remember the footpath that allowed you to walk through the Vaux site and onto the Gill and allotments etc at the back of it?

I remember shortly before Vaux closed they successfully got that piece of land off the council. This forced people who wanted access to the rear of Vaux to walk around the site after the council provided a new footpath.

I think that footpaths are something of a protection issue. It seems to be a very important thing to preserve them and a sin if they are neglected or overgrown.

..... and Sunderland, the underdogs, are in the lead!

I remember the footpath through Vauxies. I always felt a bit uneasy going through it.
Not many people were aware of it. If I remember correctly the allotment holders and pigeon blokes all objected but the objections were overlooked and ignored.
