I don't think so.
Sunderland is in real need of this new bridge so the sooner the better.
Most would have liked to see the iconic Viking Horn Bridge being built but I think we will all be relieved in many ways when this new design is implemented. I see the works being done right now and to be honest I can't wait to see the whole think up and running.
I wonder has the council or others responsible got a plan to do a time lapse video of the new construction. They do it for other things so why not this one. I am sure those responsible for its construction will be wanting to do that as it is their first big project according to their website. They will want to demonstrate their good work at a later stage I am sure so hopefully they will get involved in this.
The new design is alright.
In fact I think its better in some respects than the old iconic design they had on the drawing boards.
Travelling around Sunderland will be far better once the new bridge is in operation.
Lets just thank our blessing that the money was available in these days of austerity cuts.
The name of the new Sunderland bridge will be done at a later date.
I don't think they will name the bridge until it starts to take shape - anything can happen between now and then.
I hope we get one of the Royal Family to open the new Sunderland bridge.
Also it should be named after a royal in my opinion.
Prince Charles Bridge sounds OK to me.
He may be the king by the time it opens so The King Charles Bridge sounds better.
Maybe we should call the new Sunderland bridge the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge since she is still queen. Don' t forget it was the Queen who was on the thrown when Sunderland became a city.
