Cheapest Car Tyre Puncture Repairs in Sunderland
Does anyone know of the cheapest place for car tyre puncture repairs in Sunderland or anywhere on Wearside?
I have a nail in my front off side tyre and upon checking I have one in my spare wheel as well. The tyre pressure is holding out but with the nail still stuck in there it is slowly deflating. I reckon I get about a week before I have to pump more air into the tyre. I really want to get these two tyres repaired for the winter months ahead.
I am in the Washington area on the mornings for the next week then will be in the Pallion/Millfield areas most afternoons for a while. So basically I should be able to pop into most areas of Sunderland as long as it doesn't take too long to make the repairs.
Does anyone know how long does it actually takes to repair a car tyre puncture?

While you are in Pallion your best bet is to go to a place beside the Sunderland Royal Hospital. On the Hylton Road side if you go to Peacocks here - 17 Peacock St. West, Sunderland SR4 6LQ you will get your puncture repaired no problem at all. They are popular but so are all the other car tyre puncture places.
Last time I went there they charged me £8.00 but it was a while ago and there was quite a few people before me so it took a whole hour to get it sorted. Some people have said they went and there was no queue so it may be hit and miss.
When I was seen to it only took about 20 minutes to repair the puncture.

Oddly enough I found a small nail in my back tyre last night.
I was just sitting beside it when I heard a hissing sound.
Then I saw the nail and so I put a bit water on it and it was bubbling from where the nail was.
I jacked the car up thinking that it might be down this morning but it wasn't.
Anyway I went to Peacocks to get it repaired and it took 45 minutes to sort the problem.
There was two cars in the available "pit" lanes and I asked a worker there and he said I was next.
I had plenty of tread on the tyre so I went for a puncture repair and not a replacement tyre.
It cost me £10.00 which was far more than it did a few years ago but it had to be done as I have the tyre sensors on the dashboard and I didn't want problems later.

..... and Sunderland, the underdogs, are in the lead!

I can vouch for Peacocks but make sure you don't lose your place in the queue if there is a few people there.

There's a place in North Hylton Road , Southwick, Sunderland called Foremost Tyres that repaired mine.
They were very quick and I had no more bother after that.

The best place in Sunderland for a car tyre puncture repair I found was Peacocks in Pallion.
I have never had any problems with any of their work so I tend to keep going back.
Its a popular place so can get a bit busy at times but it saves me looking around for someone else to do the job.

Cheers for the replies I found Peacocks yesterday and they repaired the punctures for me. I was told to check the wheel nuts the next day. They are not loose so that's it the car tyres now have no nails in them.
Re: Cheapest Car Tyre Puncture Repairs in Sunderland
For ten quid it might be better buying a part worn tyre for £20 depending how much tread is on the tyres.

Re: Cheapest Car Tyre Puncture Repairs in Sunderland
Peacocks wouldn't fix my tyre puncture.
They said there was a nail in and it was too close to the edge.
I think they said they wouldn't fix it if it was within an inch of the edge.
I got a new tyre instead.
