Jacky Whites Market in Sunderland

Post by Spider »

Jacky Whites Indoor Market in Sunderland - a truly magnificent experience.
They have all sorts of stalls and I love popping in every now and then.
You can buy all sorts in there and it still has that familiar smell about it.

I love the smell of Jacky Whites Market.
The place has been there for ever and a day.
It doesn't seem to be as busy as it was many moons ago but its stood the test of time.
Its always worth a visit.

I always used to get a bag of chips in Jacky Whites Market but I haven't been in there for a few years so I don't know if that fish shop is still there. I don't often get to the city centre nowadays but the indoor market was busy on my last visit.

Its a shame the one up Park Lane is run down.

I love Jacky Whites Market.
The stall holders have always seemed very friendly from the new businesses to the older established ones and are always willing to help.

Before they developed the Bridges Shopping Centre from the old Market Square it was always nice to pop into Jacky Whites Market. I used to get a cup of tea in there and a visit to the fish shop was a must. It did seem a lot busier then than it is now but that's not surprising. What is remarkable is how Jacky Whites has managed to survive during the City Centre transformation.

Wasn't there a record shop in Jacky Whites Market?
I seem to remember buying an odd single from there.
It may have been called Atkinsons but it was so long ago I just can't remember.
