James Baxter is so young and has already played the roll of Jesus
I will look out for the lad on the box as I have never seen or even heard of him.

I will have to try and get to watch Still Open All Hours.
I loved Ronnie Barker's shows and wasn't even aware that this show was made.
I must have lead a sheltered life

Good on the lad.
Hopefully he can go on to greater things.

I have not seen the newer version of "Open All Hours".
I will make it my business to see it when its next on and see if I can pick up on the accent.
Its always nice to see a local actor move into the limelight.
James Baxter looks so young so lets hope he can have a long distinguished career like James Bolam has.

Good luck to James Baxter
I had a look on youtube and found this interview where he was talking to Lorraine Kelly about "Still Open All Hours".
He starts off where he seems to have modified his accent and sounds like someone from Teesside ... "on Boxing Dayyyyyyy"
At the end he gets a little back to his Sunderland roots and while talking about Sir David Jason he says "he's such a joy man, he's so funny"
Its only a 50 second clip.

There's a ghost in the house!

Re: James Baxter (Actor) - A Sunderland Lad
I suppose James Baxter will try and rub off his accent a little, well quite a lot if he had a strong Mackem accent.
You just will not progress through the ranks on television if you have a regional accent.
Some have managed to keep theirs but a strong Mackem accent will not be an asset for any budding actor.
There just is no niche for it.
