Stone Roses frontman, Ian Brown, has told the world that he wants the band to play Sunderland.
Great, we get a band that many of us have possibly heard of expressing their wishes to play in our beautiful city.
His comments about performing on Wearside came while signing autographs in London but are not what they seem.
The old front-man (53) says, "We'd like to play places you'd least like to live - like Sunderland, Grimsby. But not advertised it as that, know what I mean," he laughed.
A voice off-camera is also heard to say "Hartlepool" suggesting that was another undesirable place to live.
The Stadium of Light has played host to many of the worlds top acts including Status Quo, David Bowie, Take That, Bruce Springsteen, The Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This summer's offering is Beyoncé on June 28 to mention just one.
Tact is possibly not the best quality of Ian Brown.
What this chap fails to understand is that Sunderland is a massive city, the biggest between Leeds and Edinburgh and we are all, in the main, happy.
