Car Plunges Over Cliffs At Marsden Grotto
Car Plunges Over Cliffs At Marsden Grotto
A 25 year old woman has been taken to hospital as her car plunges from the cliffs near Marsden Grotto.
Police were called out to the scene around 2 am.
The woman was conscious throughout and was rescued by the lifeboats as helicopters could not be used due to the poor visibility.
She had been placed in Newcastle's RVI and is thought to be in a stable condition.
There were no other people in the car at the time.
Visibility was very poor due to thick fog which had been prevalent most of the day.
This is an image of the scene at the foot of the cliffs.

Oh dear!
I hope the poor lass makes a full recovery.
What a nightmare situation.
I wonder how long it was between the accident happening and her being found?

Some people are born lucky.
Whatever the circumstances surrounding this incident are I hope she learns by her mistake.
Hopefully she recovers well.

Anyone know the time-scale involved?Bluebird wrote: I wonder how long it was between the accident happening and her being found?
She must have been terrified with the sound of the waves once she realised the situation she found herself in.
..... and Sunderland, the underdogs, are in the lead!
