Tommy Robinson Up For Retrial After Release
Love him or hate him, Tommy Robinson has been released from prison after an appeal judge decided the original ruling in Leeds was flawed.
To say this whole episode was 'flawed' is an understatement.
Most people in the country, no, the world, was shocked when he was sent to prison less than 5 hours after his arrest.
Had this been one of those countries with a dictatorship and a primitive legal system you could understand the original court hearing.
But this is the UK, the home of democracy and a legal system which goes back centuries.
Tommy Robinson will attend a retrial when ALL the facts are known and there is time for the prosecution and defence people to thrash it all out.
Its good to see common sense has prevailed here.
As I said, love him or hate him it makes no difference.
What is important is that we give EVERYONE a FAIR trial and not one driven by prejudice, or worse still, some dark forces that we don't understand.

Re: Tommy Robinson Up For Retrial After Release
Can't argue with your post Jammy but there are some people that don't believe in fair trials and would like to see the bloke banged up for good. Personally, I think his prison sentence given five hours after his arrest was something we should all be alarmed about.
Re: Tommy Robinson Up For Retrial After Release
Didn't Tommy Robinson get done for reporting outside the court when there was reporting restrictions?
I don't like these secret hearings at all.
I thought that courts were public courts

That's it, he was told not to do it.
I might have the day off today!

Re: Tommy Robinson Up For Retrial After Release
Sounds daft like. Robinson was using his mobile phone to broadcast live outside the court. He was only showing what you would see had you been standing there. So, its not to be broadcast live but you can be there yourself. It makes no sense.
