The 8 o'clock clap tonight

Post by Bus Driver »

How come we didn't get much notice of the 8 o'clock clap tonight?
I was wondering what everyone was doing on their doorsteps clapping away and making a racket.
It was a show of appreciation for the NHS staff but I never knew it was going to happen :?

I didn't hear owt, but we're all very grateful for what they do anyway.. We all cherish the NHS.

One of the best in the world, but it's underfunded

I knew nothing of this either until I was driving past the old Roker Park stadium where the new houses are I heard something strange.

It sounded like I had a flat tyre so I slowed right down just in case and that's when I noticed people on their doorsteps clapping.

That was the first I knew about the campaign

There was more clapping on doorsteps at 8pm today as well. Is this going to be a regular thing or just while we have an emergency?

Lets hope that it gives people a greater appreciation of the NHS.

Instead of abusing it, like people ringing up asking for pizzas.

Its from a while back. Also people used to ring them up as a taxi service

Ridiculous man, hopefully we can find a vaccine for this horrible virus, and some people might have a greater appreciation and respect for the nhs

There seemed to be someone clapping in every street in the Fulwell area.
Both the kids and the elderly were joining in.
I think we will see more and more of this for many other occasions not just the NHS.
