How do pandemics end?
I don't think I've known a pandemic to hit us before so I was wondering just how they end? I understand herd immunity, well a little but it's enough I suppose. I have only heard of the Spanish flu pandemic of about a hundred years ago but that ended. So, how do we expect this COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic to end?
Will it mutate so we can never really get herd immunity or will it die out. Then, once it goes do we all live happily ever after without a pandemic for another 100 years?

The Black death must have really wanted control. We had no labs or the technology we have today, but it died out.
How did that happen then?

I have a post on the blog from about 2 years ago on a similar subject if it helps.
Sunderland Deadly Diseases
I think I need to make another after all this.
