My first post-THE POST OFFICE.
Well this is my first post and it may seem a tad pointless to some but I've got a bit savings left from Christmas and my birthday and was wanting to put it in my bank account of course and I've heard I can do it quickly at the post office.
I was wondering if anyone else has deposited money at the postie with their card and if there's a limit of how much you can put in lol.
Bit of a random post I know folks but thought I'd ask before I head over to the town to the branch because I cant be bothered to go to town at the minute.
Cheers to anyone that gets back to me and nice to meet you all

Re: My first post-THE POST OFFICE.
You would be better looking for an account with the best interest rate because at this time you might get back 5p on £100 every year.
After 12 months, it looks like the Post Office account goes down to 1p every year for every £100.
The best place to look for more interest is a building society like Nationwide or the Yorkshire etc.
Opening is pretty much easy wherever you go so choose the best deal for you.
You can compare interest rates online before you travel.
I actually started a thread here on this subject a while back - viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2080

Re: My first post-THE POST OFFICE.
Thank you for that information but I just meant using the post office (instead of going to my branch) as a means to put money into my account because I hold a actual bank account. So already got an account sort of thing.

I think they only do certain banks, but lloyds is definitely one of them where you can deposit money into your account

Re: My first post-THE POST OFFICE.
I miss the post office on Hylton Road but the Chester Road one is only a little further for me.
I pay money in my other account regularly and that is why we should preserve them.
I wasn't aware I could use the post office for my bank until sometime last year but it makes life so much easier, just show your card and pay in!
