Has "protect the NHS" now turned into "protect the vaccine"?

Post by Steve30000 »

"Dan Bloom on Twitter: "Significant this from Boris Johnson - shows there will be a focus on case numbers, not just hospitalisations and deaths as Tory MPs are arguing for, when deciding how fast to ease lockdown https://t.co/1zJvCDap9K" / Twitter"

All these restrictions were to protect the NHS and stop hospitalisations, severe disease, and death.

Now it's turned into a protect the vaccine by stopping cases, therefore stopping mutations.
Like I've said before, they're moving the goalposts to avoid going back to a proper normal.

Taking the Mick now, like.we're never going to get out of this if they're now going to concentrate on cases.

They'll scare the public into compliance by banging on about variants all the time now.

You'd think so, but they'll have their excuses ready. If whitty and his crew had their way, we'd be doing this until we're all lying in these ⚰️, having not had our lives back.

Once we get about 50% of the UK vaccinated and the infection rate has drastically reduced which it should do then they should drop most or the regulations.
They might need to keep some in reserve just in case but you would think that the country could reopen for business again big style.

I think they believe it will be almost eliminated when 80% are vaccinated so we would need around another 30-35 million done and that's canny far off.

I don't understand the question here because I thought with a vaccine available that's the beginning of the end so why protect it. Just give it out to those that want/need it surely :headscratch:

Protect it against mutations and variants from those spreading it who are not vaccinated?

They've gone from not mentioning variants or mutations at the start of this, and telling people they are protecting the NHS,..... to getting a vaccine and telling everyone about mutations and how we could end up with the virus potentially avoiding the vaccine.

Now they're saying that social distancing will have to stay even after the vast majority of people are vaccinated... 🙄

They like to move the goalposts to suit. It'll be cases now, not hospitalisations or death.

Then it'll be the R number... We'll all be deed by the time they lift all these restrictions

I doubt if the public will allow that, Steve.
There's simply too many pressure groups that will cause havoc if they hang on too long.
