We're turning into a nanny state. If it stops serious disease and does not overwhelm the NHS, then it's job done.
That's it...no more restrictions. Looks like they're enjoying the power too much

I've no idea but they might be thinking that the mutants will be around for a long time yet.
What was that you said again?

We'll be in this situation for life if we carry on worrying about it mutating. Just slap a mask on a newborn straight away, let them grow up thinking it's normal to keep your disgusting mouth covered in public..thingamajig wrote: ↑22 Mar 2021, 02:25 I've no idea but they might be thinking that the mutants will be around for a long time yet.

They will if we believe what they say.thingamajig wrote: ↑22 Mar 2021, 02:25 I've no idea but they might be thinking that the mutants will be around for a long time yet.
The rate this is going you just get the feeling that this is the worst pandemic ever and the only reason we are surviving it is that we are better equipped.
Had this happened hundreds of years ago it would have destroyed us with wave after wave?

This was only needed to keep the hospitalisations and severe cases down.
Now cases are going up, but hospitalisations, severe disease, ventilation and deaths are right down.
That tells you that vaccination is working, so where's the justification for keeping people muzzled for years?

My understanding is that even if you are immune from either having Covid or the vaccine, you can still carry the disease in your respiratory system. So the mask will do what they are doing now and that is to stop the spread.Steve30000 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2021, 18:44This was only needed to keep the hospitalisations and severe cases down.

The spread won't matter if the vast majority are vaccinated though.. it stops people being hospitalised, and that's the point of them.Crawford wrote: ↑27 Mar 2021, 09:15My understanding is that even if you are immune from either having Covid or the vaccine, you can still carry the disease in your respiratory system. I borrow one of these from a lady friend of mine and don't get pestered in the shops.
