Excellent news, I just heard it on the radio.
Shame really that I couldn't have seen it live.

A good day at the office then, I had to say it

Well done to this 18-year-old because it is a remarkable story with many "firsts".

I might have the day off today!

I'm not into tennis but you can't help but feel happy for her.

Some people aren't interested in tennis then. Not as popular as football so not surprising

I guess people are too busy as well, I've noticed that recently.

Very true.
I've not come across many other than those who have just heard the news but maybe that is because it is a boring game.
I would have watched the game had I not been working and I am interested in a big event but it would only be because it was a big event.
