Agreements that the Americans are honouring, from what I understand they made these arrangements with the Taliban :o
I thought they trained some of their army and police so they can keep order?
They trained all the forces for 20 years but whether they had the will to defend against the Taliban or whether they want this takeover remains to be seen.

This is one massive humiliation for the West and not just the Yanks.

I feel it for the people there because we have just tossed them back into the dark ages after being reasonably free for 20 years.
The women there are now in all sorts of trouble.

The UK is trying to evacuate about 4,000 Britons and their allies from Afghanistan, but defence secretary Ben Wallace admitted on Monday that "some people won't get back".

This is an absolute travesty.

Watching this death cult take over a country like this and our government seemingly abandoning some of our people there has to go down as one of the worst events ever in my life.

Are we in 2021 ffs?
More to the point, why are the allies running away from boys in frocks?

I bet it's money. It's probably costing us a fortune keeping our army over there to protect the Afghan people.

It's a disgrace that after 20 years, the Taliban are so entrenched in their views and ideology, that as soon as as American and British troops pull out, they pounced like animals to go back to the way they treated their people before we invaded.

We showed them how to run a civilized country, and they just want to go back to their barbaric ways, and treat women like 2nd class citizens. Some government's are so corrupt that they love having that sort of power over people.

Because they have a couple of catapults between them.

Seriously though, what we are seeing is yet another defeat by the Americans which will not go unnoticed by the Chinese.

Joe Biden has allowed this to happen.
And some people thought Donald Trump was bad but I doubt Trump would have botched up like this.

20 years at a great cost and then to run away from these cavemen is ridiculous.

One thing is for sure, the revenge cost will be high both to the people there and in the west so I wouldn't be surprised if we go back in.

I guess this story will run and run but don't expect any good news to come from that part of the world.
