Social media fraud

Are these media platforms not moderated, or do they not care? Surely, you'd think they'd want to stop this?

Cybercrime specialist Jake Moore says investigators are facing an uphill battle to find the culprits.

"Anonymous accounts are leaving not just a small amount of breadcrumbs to investigate them - there are no breadcrumbs," he says. "There's no digital footprint left behind them. So to investigate this is nearly impossible."

There'll be a way, but it'll cost a lot of money imo

I used to think I could never be the victim of fraud according to that police description I probably have been on the likes of eBay.

Fraudsters have targeted me about 5 times in the last few weeks but I don't easily get taken in.

If you have a phone number or email address, the chances are that you will be a target.
There are ways to handle your phone calls, texts and emails.
People need to look after themselves a little more.

Talking to a few people lately about online fraud and you wouldn't believe how rife it is and how guilable some people are.
