Why do some websites make it so awkward and difficult to say no to these? Some of them force you to accept them or you can't read their article, while others direct you to a link where it's an unsafe link, with the padlock unlocked at the top of your screen.
This practice needs to stop imo. Why give us the option to say no, then make people jump through hoops to do so? Despicable

Re: Use of cookies on websites
It's all about personal data and what they do with it isn't it.
Also, isn't this government thinking about changing all this now that we are out of the EU?
Before the EU started with this rubbish there were no hoops to jump through but maybe it wasn't too safe.
With the right anti-virus though, dodgy websites are inaccessible anyway.

Re: Use of cookies on websites
Cookies help the website know what browser and language you use as well as quite a few other things.
Without cookies, you might not see the whole website if there are no suitable interactions between the server and your device.
If the website is respected and quite high up in Google then its cookies will be fine.
I automatically allow cookies but some websites do put all sorts of barriers up.
The worst of all are the pop-ups and I just don't use websites that allow those.
