Should Scotland leave the Union and be independent - POLL
Should Scotland leave the Union and be independent - POLL
I have created a simple poll for this question.
We have witnessed a referendum north of the border and the vote was very close and thank God they voted to stay with the Union.
I want to see what the outcome would be had people in Sunderland had the chance to vote on Scottish independence.
I voted No by the way

No, Scotland should not leave the union.
I find it hard to believe that the rest of Britain allowed this referendum to go ahead in the first place.
I say this because lets say they voted in favour of independence by just one single vote. What right do we have to cast aside the 50% of Scots who voted to stay British within the union? We have no right whatsoever!
It would be much fairer to say that they would need say 90% of the vote to gain independence not 50% and a bit. Even 90% would be bad because that would still mean that 10% would be placed in a different situation to what they want. Again we have no right to impose that against their wishes. The union has been together for over 300 years so why change now when they do run the country themselves for the most part anyway?

No, they shouldn't leave.
There are far too many reasons to stay together.
We are far too tied up together.

I think I would agree with the post above which is saying we shouldn't be looking to forcibly allow people to be in a different country. This is absolute madness.

Weird really. So 51% of people can decide the fate of the other 49%. It may be called democracy but those 49% should be allowed to determine their future. You just can't dump 49% of people the rest of the UK has a moral responsibility to them. Yes, even if it was just 10% too!!!!!

No cos we have all been friends on this small island for 350 years. Far too much hate from them Scottish nationalists. Its not the voters fault its just they all got sick of being governed by the Tories.

The SNP or the Scottish National Party are not right wing as the name suggests they are more like left wing loonies. Scotland would be far worse off if they go it alone with those idiots in charge.
I might have the day off today!

I will not argue against this statement. They do appear to be hating the English while encompassing some Marxist belief which would destroy the whole nation. By then, the country would be a wasteland.cam wrote:The SNP or the Scottish National Party are not right wing as the name suggests they are more like left wing loonies.
