And we'll have to pay it back.
What do you expect the government to do? It costs money to try to stop this getting out of hand.
Do you not want them to pay for ventilators or beds, to ease the pressure on the NHS?
Do you not want them to subsidise our wages, so people are forced to steal to survive, and go out looting, therefore spreading the virus more? There'd be civil unrest if they didn't.
Do you not want them to help companies out because they're forcing them to close?
They've got no choice but to spend crazy, they're forced into it. Or do you think bits of paper and metal are more important than people's lives?

Re: People complaining that we're spending too much money
I don't think you will see anyone complaining Steve.
It just means that when or if we get through all this, the debt will be massive.
Poor Boris Johnson has a task and a half ahead of him.
It's alright talking about the future debt as long as the opposition parties don't politicise it for their own means.
This is an unprecedented time when all the parties should get together and agree on what needs to be done.
So far I've heard just a few squeaks from Labour but they should be stopping all that.

Could we suffer a total collapse in everything?

Unless we find a vaccine, we could be in lockdown every 3 months.

It depends what you mean but we might not get back to where we once were. Hopefully we will but it might be better, we just don't know yet.
