Sunderland Council Tax - Do We Pay Or Not?

Post by Spider »

Sunderland Council Tax - Do We Pay Or Not? That is the question.
I am due to pay the council tax for May but I was told by a few at work not to pay because you don't need to just yet.
I haven't heard anything official from Sunderland council so what's going on?

I pay them around £100 a month and others are not even paying and they have not had any communication from the council.
When I missed last year they wanted the lot in one go or off to court it was :o
The people I have spoken to say they are not paying until they are forced to but if you are right then they will get a big bill later?
Or will we get a rebate through lack of service?

I am not offering any advice here but I am paying it.

If there is any rebate then I expect they will adjust the bill accordingly.
The reason I am paying is I really don't want a massive bill all in one go and I am still working so can afford it.

I am still paying online but will keep my ears to the ground in case there are rebates I can claim if they forget me.

They really are callous, not everyone can keep up with payments, why be like that?

You must have missed two payments then because the first time you get a warning.

It's stupid because if you can't pay and you go to court there's bags more money goes on top.
The council are like this. Miss 2 payments and find out - it's all automatic.

You'd think that anyone that misses 2 payments must be struggling with cash..

Councils idea? Force them to pay more.... I bet that works every time. Nuggets
