Stewart Donald resigns as chairman

This is the SAFC Forum. You may chat about Sunderland AFC here together with any other footballing matters. Obviously, the Black Cats are the main focus. However, this is basically our football lounge.

I've said give him a chance for all time but he will be leaving as he said so.
We also should not pressurise him into making mistakes.
If he really loves the club and wants to be a part of the clubs history then Donald should sell to an appropriate buyer.

Would the fans get behind a football based consortium with a long term plan without false promises and have the patience to see it through- or allow the current / recent chairman to sell control to another prospective failure from SAmerica because he doesn’t have the balls to wait a few weeks for cash offer that would actually benefit the club as well as himself. As that is what “could” happen this week... potentially... probably
He'll do what's best for himself, not the club.

It depends... if a consortium takes over, do they have the money to compete?

Or the football knowledge to make it work?

Football is just like any other business .... to business people.
With coronavirus ruining the game for us last season, there will be a little bit more time to reflect on things.
Do these business people want to invest in something which might radically change for good and affect their profits?
I suspect that this is not the right time for investment at all so we may be stuck with what we have for a while to come.
Of course Stewart Donald might want to cut his losses and sell to anyone regardless and that is yet another danger for SAFC.

SD wants out because he feels that the fans are against him.
He will just sell to the first one who offers him something close to what he wants.

He can be as reluctant as he wants because it's bye bye or is it so long

Worryingly, you're probably correct.

With his ridiculous asking price? Doubt it.
How much?

I might have the day off today!
