How to use the UK’s first Dutch-style roundabout in Fendon Road, Cambridge

A video has been released showing how to use the UK’s first Dutch-style roundabout, which is opening in Cambridge on Friday (July 31).

The aim is to improve the safety of the site, which has a poor accident record.

But the unusual nature of the roundabout has prompted Cambridgeshire County Council to release a video to guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

I bet this will be fun and games when it opens.

I have noticed one thing in the video, and that's that everybody seems to be copying the governments 3 sentence messages now.

Is this a brand new way to advertise now?

Cyclists have right of way regardless of which way they are travelling at a roundabout
This is not going to end well at all.
Firstly, there are far too many car drivers who frown on cyclists and will be trying to impose their authority over them.
Secondly, many cyclists ignore all rules of the road to begin with and will take advantage of this new system.
The pedestrian crossings might be a clue to slow people down but honestly this is going to cause more harm than good.
