People between 50 and 70 could be given personalised risk ratings, taking into account factors like age and medical history.

That seems a better option and might please some people.
I like the idea of risk assessment which gives you the tools in order to make better decisions.
But why over 50 now?

What was that you said again?

I don't know anyone who is frightened of it to start with.
People seem to be taking precautions like physical distancing and washing their hands but that's it.

Me neither.
Some older people do tend to keep a massive distance from you in the streets and shops but maybe they have bad health anyway.

It will be for those who have just ended their quarantine with another group added that's all.

I would think so but if we get a second wave as predicted, can we afford the furlough scheme again?

We couldn't afford the last one.
The whole economy just shut down and we will be paying for decades on that alone.
I would think by now they will try and save the economy while protecting the vulnerable next time.
Hopefully they have learned a vital lesson.

Not a chance. Boris wants local lockdowns if necessary to stop damaging the whole country because of a national one.
