Phil Parkinson slams the EFL salary cap

Phil Parkinson has hit out at the EFL's newly-imposed salary cap - accusing its backers of voting to level the playing field, not to ensure sustainability.

In practical terms, it means the Black Cats, with their average gate of more than 30,000, must abide by the same limit as Accrington Stanley, who average only 2,800.

Exactly what I've been saying, it's a ridiculous rule. Scmp already exists so why do we need this?

Clubs are just jealous of our income

We will attract the best players still but it will be a handicap.

It shouldn't be a handicap though, we can afford to pay more, so what?

Its not our fault they can't afford to pay what we can, boo hoo.. Its ridiculous

To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much.
We will attract the best players because we have the potential to go places, the players are not daft.

We will but the playing field has been levelled.
This decision will go against us without a doubt so I hope there's some sort of legal challenge.

It just reinforces our position as a league one standard team.

Where's the ambition of any teams in this league that they'd vote for this? They've just shot themselves in the foot

Although this is just another hurdle that we have to jump over there will still be 3 teams that go up.
We can only but hope that we are one of those.
Parky needs to pull his finger out now.

We still have no automatic rights have we?
I can't understand this, why could they not just tell the clubs to keep their books in order :headscratch:

No and over the years this has been proved.

There's already a rule in place regarding each club.. Why bring this blanket cap in?

Its a moronic idea, obviously some clowns work at the efl.
