Concerns raised after positive Covid case at Primark Sunderland
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/ ... underland/
A STORE worker has claimed staff are 'worried' for their health and safety after a colleague at Primark in Sunderland tested positive for Covid-19.
"Everyone feels betrayed because this person has been in work for the past week - and we've not had any information about it.
"They said they’d done a deep clean, but they used our own cleaners and only did the store in two hours before we opened."
I can relate to this in a way, because similar thing are happening elsewhere, companies are more bothered about their business rather than their staff. As long as that product gets out that door and money comes in, that's all that matters.

Re: Concerns raised after positive Covid case at Primark Sunderland
While I share in the concerns, it just shows how much fear there is out there mostly brought about by a massive overreaction to a virus which only really damages the old and people in bad health.
At the start of this pandemic Boris Johnson and co wanted us to just "take it on the chin" but went for the nanny state thing under pressure.
Sweden on the other hand has very few restrictions at all and their death rate is favourable to ours and we went for overkill!
Sweden took it on the chin and their economy didn't suffer.
They are almost at herd immunity while we all have to come out of our bunker and when we do, we all have to get it (well the majority).
Those workers are like the rest of us, if we feel that the company is not doing enough to protect us from the virus, we can stop off work until we are satisfied ..... and they can't sack you for that but you will not be paid.
I think by now most of us know the risks and it's down to us what we do.
Myself, I profited from it big style and I am in the moderate risk group meeting loads of new people!

Aren't Sweden a much younger, less populated country?Sunderland Nut wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020, 11:04 While I share in the concerns, it just shows how much fear there is out there mostly brought about by a massive overreaction to a virus which only really damages the old and people in bad health.

More area per person means social distancing is not a problem, less older people mean less hospital admissions..

Keep about 2 metres from others and wash your hands regularly, especially if you touch something that others might have, refrain from touching your face as well.
If you work indoors like an office and you suspect someone having symptoms, alert them and tell them your concerns.
Whether you should self-isolate for 2 weeks I don't know, possibly depends on the circumstances.

I hear that around 40% of people are asymptomatic when they catch it.

I've seen somewhere that it could be 70%.
I may be way off, or where I read it was wrong I should say

OK then say around 50% but that will apply to may other illnesses.
The thing is this virus is only dangerous to the old and vulnerable so why should the whole nation or even population of the world suffer?

Those who show no symptoms can still pass it on.
