Check the facts out first.. Don't think anyone will be lying, it's just that people get 2nd hand info and pass it off as fact.

Re: Sunderland back on a lockdown with new restrictions
Fines upped from 100 quid to 200 quid for not wearing a mask in certain areas.
Don't visit other people's homes.
Pubs and restaurants to shut at 10pm.
Businesses, colleges, universities and schools to stay open.
If you can work from home, do it.
Timescale of 6 months for these measures to last, unless there's a vaccine or cases, infections and hospital admissions fall.

That's just a handful of rules. There are rules that cover the lot like weddings, funerals and all other areas of life. There must be a thousand pages which change daily.
So we know all about the 2 metres thing and mixing with people but there's no way we can know the full rules.

Nobody knows all the rules.
All we know is a few but it's down to common sense if you don't want to catch the virus.

A quick check because this is applicable to me at the moment.
Weddings can have 15 guests but funerals are exempt.

They really ought to simplify the rules if they want people to understand them.
