Pubs and restaurants in north of England will be 'forced to shut from Monday'

From next week pubs and restaurants in parts of the North of England may be forced to close as coronavirus cases and the infection rate in the region continue to climb

A No10 source did not deny the plans, which have not been agreed by ministers, but stressed a final decision was not yet made.

So people will drink in the house instead.. Which will lead to more infections at homes

In the meantime the hospitality sector gets decimated

When they do lockdowns, local or national, wouldn't it be better to just do it rather than say we might or we could :headscratch:
Also, wouldn't it be better if we all know what to expect and what restrictions come into force because when it happens there will be too many rules.
Plain and simple lockdowns with no variations but maybe that is just me over simplifying things for the common people to understand.
This way, we all know what is coming and when and we all do our bit knowing it will be over in 3 weeks or so (temporarily :( )

What was that you said again?

That's the point though, most people don't need too many restrictions if any at all.
Only the elderly and vulnerable need protection and the rest of us can take our own precautions.

Aye but some need rules and laws etc to keep them in check.
