Only right as well but they could allow the drugs to be made in the far east and get them done cheaper.

At the point of contact, it is. Of course we all pay through tax, it helps people who can't afford it otherwise.

Here's a thought, if you pay for private health insurance and do everything privately, I wonder if you can opt out of paying your contributions to the NHS.

It's still tax. That's what it's meant for, but I bet they lump it all together and just give the NHS what they feel is enough.
