SAFC without 8 players due to COVID-19
SAFC without 8 players due to COVID-19 after an outbreak at the Academy of Light
Tonight's game goes ahead even though this information has been confirmed.
All players affected are in self isolation.
It's not known if all those isolating have the virus but McGeady, Maguire, Flanagan and Wyke are known to be out of tonight's game.

Re: SAFC without 8 players due to COVID-19
Sunderland AFC only have one footballer confirmed with coronavirus and the other 7 are self-isolating.
It was too late to call the game off as the AFC Wimbledon players had travelled up and the EFL wouldn't help out.
The EFL said if we call it off at this stage then we would have to concede to an equivalent 3-0 defeat.

All our best players. I love getting kicked in the knackers, it's all part of supporting this club.
Just need this takeover to fall through, Donald to stay on and take the extra cash, and we end up with a transfer embargo.
Just typical

Were the rest of the players nowhere near the one with a positive test? Surely they're all together anyway?thingamajig wrote: ↑15 Dec 2020, 18:40 Sunderland AFC only have one footballer confirmed with coronavirus and the other 7 are self-isolating.

So the EFL are playing God?
Who are they to allow this game to go ahead?
I can only see all those involved taking tests over the next few days.

If any Wimbledon players develop coronavirus I suspect the EFL will be in deep mucky pup.

The EFL had a gun at our head to play last nights game, they are already in trouble.Sunderland Nut wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020, 11:13 If any Wimbledon players develop coronavirus I suspect the EFL will be in deep mucky pup.
