The Wear-Tyne Derby - Moved To Accommodate TV (April 2015)
The Wear-Tyne derby between Sunderland and Newcastle has been moved to allow the game to be televised.
The game is now kicking off on Sunday the 5th of April 2015 at 4pm.
This game was due to be played the day before on the 4th but the TV company has had a big say in the rescheduling of the match.
There is no doubt that this game will be a sell out and ticket arrangements will be made available in due course.
So to recap:
The Sunderland v Newcastle derby will be a 4pm kick off on the 5th April 2015.

The police will not like this move one bit. They will be worried about trouble, but, after all, they oppose everything. Idiots!
The police way of thinking is everyone will have had access to alcohol and there will be loads of fights or trouble. There will be a few scuffles but that's it, an odd few. Every football derby up and down the UK will have similar troubles.
Lets hope it all goes well and this sets a precedent so we can go back to it being a normal kick off time.

Over the years I have saw a little trouble at the Sunderland v Newcastle derby matches but nothing too bad. Where you get such crowds there will always be the odd bit trouble, even amongst those who know each other.

I have to say that the run of recent results is not encouraging at all for such a game. The 0-0 at home to West Brom yesterday was an example. Sunderland are the second lowest scorers in the Premier League. Aston Villa are the lowest scorers. Yes I want Sunderland to win Newcastle, of course, but we are not scoring goals.
I might have the day off today!

I am glad you have the name correct
Watch how the media will duff it up by saying the Tyne-Wear derby.
As been mentioned there will be a small amount of bother but 48,000 people where some disagree with each other need proper policing. Hopefully Northumbria Police will get this game over with the minimum amount of bother.

..... and Sunderland, the underdogs, are in the lead!

There will be very little trouble. Its the police being picky. Times have changed since the warfare at these Sunderland v Newcastle derby games in the seventies.

There will be very little trouble my friend. I have faith in the police and their big metal barriersStooge wrote:Bring it on. Warts anarl.
Joking aside we are supposed to be civilised. We will have Sunderland supporters and Newcastle supporters having a slanging battle but that's it. Different era now. The Mags will be lead to the stadium and back again by Northumbria's finest police.
I would be surprised if there were more than a dozen arrests. Yes there will be a few but not for violence.

Why do the police keep moaning about everything.
They are getting paid to do this job so they should just do it.
If they can't do the job then sack them
