They've already gone permit crazy
It's as if this council is against cars.
If you hit someone in your car:

At 40mph the chances of killing them are 90%.
At 30mph it is 50/50.
At 20mph that goes down to 10%.

We all get that but there needs to be some common sense.
I can't continue driving around the city at night at 20mph in 3rd or 2nd gear depending on the load, this is ridiculous.
There are no schoolchildren around and you only need to keep an eye on the odd drunk.

In the evening there is no need to have these speed limits and many businesses are suffering.
If they are slowing us down to protect the kids, surely that is down to parents and education?
That still doesn't explain the slow speeds in the early hours.

If you don't live in an area that has a 20mph zone, then it's only a matter of time because they can't do it to the odd estate and leave the others.

Together with the parking permits that have an impact on small businesses, then yes, it does look like the council are against car drivers (some businesses as well).

The next thing is for the Sunderland council to say you need a man walking in front of your car with a white flag.

What was that you said again?

Honestly, try going from Pallion Retail Park to the Grindon Mill through Ford Estate, it's like that now.
In fact, carry on towards Plainf Farm via Grindon Mill and that's 20mph as well.
So get the white flags out and surrender!

How has the council gotten away with this?
Did it go to a vote and are they all for it?
If so my faith in the lot has gone out of the window because up til now I've ignored the signs but you can't ignore them forever can you?
To be honest, I've only just noticed them
Some roads, aye, but there's far too many now when you open your eyes.
I must have been doing things blindly :lolboard:
What would the Lib-Dems and Tories do about this?

I only did once I got a black box in the van.
I could no longer drive around polluting the place and driving around the city in second gear.
Now my main job has gone and I am hoping that I can do more self-employment.
Well done Sunderland City Council, you idiots.

It's what the people want really.
Labour has the majority so they do what pleases them and with no competition, they get away with all this.
The only way to break their hold on the city is to vote them out!
Saying that I still think they could improve the road system around Millfield like St Marks Road and the bottom end of Hylton Road.
